IPad unboxing

I have spent a couple of years with my iPad Air but, like me, it was getting long in the tooth. The technology has moved on so much in even the last two years that the "old" iPad although still very capable has been superseded.
So I ordered a new iPad Pro - not the 12.9" but the recently released 9.7". It looks and feels just like the Air but it is far more capable.

After the unboxing it was time to play. I logged in to my iCloud account and after a few minutes all my files and apps were available on the iPad Pro.
Getting acquainted with the new model was my first task. I was interested to see how the non business features stacked up.
The screen is very comfortable to look at with the night shift feature and true tone.
The night shift feature is designed to help the bodies natural cycle produce melatonin at the right time of day and thus help us sleep.
The true tone censors adjust the screen to the environments colour spectrum. This is a very good feature which makes the screen appear much more natural.
The Touch ID not only allows Apple Pay but it can protect your files by using a fingerprint to access the iPad. This also allows a complex password to be set instead of the normal 6 digits.
The other main features stem from the power of the processor. The computer, since that is what the iPad Pro really is very fast and exceedingly capable.
For business use the iPad is pretty good. Of course a lot depends on the workflows and the tasks that your business requires but for most purposes there is an app that will help.
The list of built in apps includes:
Calander; Email; Web Browser; Reminders; Notes; Maps; Find my Friends; Contacts; Spreadsheets; Word Processing; Presentations; etc

Other useful apps include Graphic (for vector based illustration); Adobe reader (for PDFs); Pixelmatior (image manipulation); Autocad (CAD drawing) and thousands more.

The camera is really good and can take high quality stills and 4K video. As impressive is the ability to edit the video.

Combined with a Bluetooth keyboard (either the Smart Cover or a stand alone keyboard) and the Apple Pencil the iPad Pro
is a replacement for desk top or laptop computers.
